BECKI KERNS, ASID, LEED AP

Becki Kerns, a partner of Interior Design Group, works with both commercial and residential clients. She received her interior design degree from the University of Nebraska’s College of Architecture. Becki is NCIDQ (National Council for Interior Design Qualification) certified, along with being a LEED AP from the USGBC. Active with ASID (American Society of Interior Designers), Becki service includes two years on the National Board, President of the Nebraska/Iowa Chapter as well as the Chair for the Chapter Support Team (CST). She is heavily involved in other community activities, having served as Guild President for the Child Saving Institute and President of the Junior League of Omaha.

  • What do you feel is your responsibility as a designer?

To constantly collect new ideas (thoughts and products) to include into each project. To incorporate classic design techniques alongside innovative ideas to make the space personalized for the end user.

  • What do you consider successful design?

Listening to the client’s ideas and putting the design into action. Whether it is a residential or commercial space, the results are functional, attractive, cost-effective and above all pleasing to the client.
